Monthly Update – September 2025

Life Updates • RavenScript Store
It’s SEPTEMBER. Already? (And the month is almost over… ugh).
I’ve been told that part of being an adult is that you are so, so busy and time constantly flies by, and it’s hard to catch a break, and that it’s just going to be like that forever until you die, and… yeah.
Sigh.
Adulthood never was painted in a cheerful light by most people.
Now I can see why.
But now, after vacation bible school, actual vacation, catching up at work, briefly taking care of some baby chickens, working on the RavenScript store, and some big life changes approaching, it’s finally slowed down.
Slightly.
Learning Curve
I’ve had the opportunity to, along with many other responsibilities, create the story and script for our Vacation Bible School program. It’s been an entirely new challenge for me. Writing for Kids Ministries, like VBS, requires a good balance between “action” and “preaching.” You don’t want to be too “preachy” because the story becomes slow and the kids lose interest. You don’t want the action to draw away from the lesson and point of the skit. The concepts are the same as those you would use when writing any decent story, but slightly more obvious and easier for kids to make sense of. All in all, it was a bit of a learning curve, and the result was fun.
The Chicks!
I recently decided to acquire six adorable baby chickens. Unfortunately, I was not able to keep them (they hadn’t even grown big enough to lay eggs), and I had to pass them on to a friend. They were, however, incredibly cute while I had them. Also, from someone who has had many, many batches of chicks through their life, these chicks were the messiest chicks I have ever had. Seriously, they were slobs (and chicks are messy as a rule in general, so…)
Some cuteness for you to see:

When I first acquired the cute little monstrosities, I was still pretty obsessed with the Marvel Thunderbolts* movie that had come out.
Hence, I named each one of them after the characters in the movie: Ghost, Walker, Alexei, Bucky, Yelena, and Bob.
Ironically, all of them turned out to be roosters with the exception of Walker and Bucky.
But together, I called them the Featherbolts.
Very cheesy, yes. But I found it amusing at the time. So, anyway…
Upcoming Changes
Just a heads up… I’m looking at an amazingly big life change around the holidays involving my career and location. I’m not going to give a lot of details, but I’m pretty excited for it and the future opportunities.
Obviously, I won’t be producing much, if any, content. However, following the change, there are a ton of things I’m looking forward to trying out and starting, along with some consistency.
During this time, I’d appreciate your prayers. God will work all the details out, and I’m so excited to see how it all unfolds!
