The Path Forsaken (Poem)

All alone on one dark night,
Guided by my lantern’s light,
Down the eerie path, forsaken,
Searching for a safe night haven,
I thought I heard a noise behind,
And turned around,
Only to find,
Empty was the path forsaken,
Clearly I had been mistaken,
Back on the lonely path forsaken,
Still searching for my safe night haven,
The nightly noise,
Of wind in trees,
Was making me shake in the knees,
The creepy sound of something stalking,
This lonely traveler, steadily walking,
Who’s praying that good fortune is taken,
On the lonely, eerie, path forsaken.
